SREC

Picture of the money you can get from SRECs.

What is an SREC?

If your system is tied to the grid, you can collect money from your solar system in the form of an SREC, or a solar renewable energy credit.

Most states now require energy companies to produce part of their electricity from renewable sources like solar energy. Your excess energy can be fed back to the energy companies to help meet their renewable energy requirement. Then you (or your solar company if you sell your SRECs upfront) gets money from this transaction.

Based Off Size of System, Not Energy Produced

Keep in mind, you receive SRECs based on the size of your solar system and not on the amount of excess energy it creates. Also, SRECs are negotiated based on supply and demand. There is no set prices for SRECs. For more info about the srec trade, visit http://www.srectrade.com

We Buy SRECs Upfront

If you choose to sell your SRECs to Leo Sunergy upfront, you can reduce the initial cost of your system and enjoy an easy one-time transaction. You also eliminate the risk of changes being made to the SREC program. Leo Sunergy makes the SREC process easy for you by offering to buy your SRECs upfront.

Yearly Purchase of SRECs

Or you can choose to receive your SREC payments over time. You will likely earn more money off your SRECs, but you take a risk that the program may change or supply may increase, decreasing demand and the ultimate value of your SRECs. Leo Sunergy can help you get this yearly SREC process started and answer any questions you may have.
